In fact, I resurrected all I had learned when my husband and I were experiencing problems. Although I couldn't "fix" him, I could control my reactions and thoughts. Today, we are working on rebuilding our marriage.

"Before I began working wit Lori Hommer at "Life Changers Counseling", I was in very strong bondage to detrimental personal habits due to unresolved issues from my past due as the results of abuse, a dysfunctional childhood and distrust of most adult relationships. I remember asking Jesus into my heart as a child at the age of six but over thirty-five years later, I had never experienced a tru, deep, personal relationship with Jesus or the Holy Spirit. I went to church, taught classes, sang on a worship team, did all the "stuff" Christians are supposed to do but I was spiritually void and as a result, turned to food, alcohol and other things to fill that void and to "numb out" the pain I felt inside. Subsequently, I went through a lengthy time period of extreme physical and emotional urmoil due to anxiety, anger, fear and unrepentance. I had no idea I was entrenched in such spiritual warfare.

Eventually, I got to a point where I desperately needed help, something very dificult for a perfectionist, over-achiever like myself to admin. Finding "Life Chagers Counseling" and working with Lori has been... life changing! In meeting with Lori and going through "The Steps to Freedom in Christ", I experienced firsthand the realization that I am a child of God, accepted, chosen, secure, loved and forgiven...created in HIS image. Of course I had heard it all before, but I never truly accepted it or believed it until I began to understand that the truths and promises of God's word are as applicable today as when first written. Every good thing comes from Him and is available to me and I am a "new creation in Christ" and it is in my best interest to be completely dependent on Him for every area of my life...body, soul and spirit! I have been released from the dettimental habits that were destroying me physically, emotionally and mentally and, as a result, I am spiritually stronger than I have ever been before or could have even imagined possible.

Instead of "numbing out" to the world around me, instead of getting stressed or angry, I have learned to claim the truths and promises in God's word. The absolute, most significant outcome of working with Lori is that my relationship with Christ, my Savior, is more real and is becoming deeper than I ever imagined and I am daily seeking His will for my life. Nothing else really matters! I have learned that "...in my life, inevery season, He is still God, I have a reason to sing, I have a reason to worship." For so long, I allowed Satan, the father of lies and the enemy of my soul, to rob me of any joy and peace. The peace I now have is "...the peace that passes all understanding..." and it is real and available to each one of us. The God that sustained me lastyear, last month, yesterday...He is the same God that sustains me today and will sustain me tomorrow. Lori helped me learn and believe this!

Lori is gifted, compassionate and REAL and I am so thankful she allows God to use her to accomplish great things through her counseling ministry. To be able to state, and mean with all sincerity, "I am forgiven and free" is beyond amazing and I truly appreciate how Lori helped me to get to this point in my life and in my walk with Christ as the Holy Spirity leads and guides me.
